Building Churches and Schools
We just recently were very blessed to have a team of American builders spend a week with us out in a remote mountain jungle. These men sacrificed air conditioning, running water, electricity and bathrooms to build a school for the children in Lartigue, not to mention them volunteering their labor and buying all the building materials. Another American group of pastors are currently raising the funds to build a church in Lartigue, which will adjoin the school. More than 100 devil worshippers in the area have recently accepted Christ and we must show them the love of Jesus by providing them with a school and a church.
This type of building is called a "Tonnell," and usually has a grass roof. But this one is extra "fancy"and sports a tin roof!
School and church in LaBelle, Haiti as it was under construction ( a front and back view)Included is the Bryce's tent! (The Haitian Hilton)
This church is in Port au Prince and has about 700 in attendance. The building also serves as a school where we educate and feed 300 students.
Most church buildings in Haiti also have school classes in them.
Our church and school at Ti Riviere as the walls were going up.
The church in Ti Riviere today...the building houses the church, school and conferences, such as you see here ( a ladies conference). It is in the middle of the jungle.
The school / church in Thomassique was leaning dangerously, threatening to fall completely down.
So we began to build a large new building, but...
...Before the new building could be finished, one of the teachers began having his classes in it. Just couldn't wait!
School construction is Lartigue, Haiti
